Disappointing Canadian Grand Prix for the Sauber F1 Team. Adrian Sutil drove a race without any special issues and finished in 13th place, while Esteban Gutiérrez stopped shortly before the end of the race due to a problem with the energy storage system. He was classified 14th.

Qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix didn’t go according to plan for the Sauber F1 Team. Esteban Gutiérrez‘ working day was over after only fifteen minutes of free practice three due to a crash requiring the team to make extensive repairs. Adrian Sutil made it into Q2 and ended up P16.

Esteban Gutierrez will be forced to sit out qualifying in Montreal after Sauber determined that his chassis needs to be changed following a crash in FP3. The Mexican lost the rear of his C33 coming through Turn 3 and slid sideways into the wall on the outside of Turn 4

When Esteban Gutierrez clipped the barrier on the inside of Rascasse and spun out of last weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, no one would been surprised if the entire garage at the Swiss team let out a long howl of frustration. The Mexican was in 10th place and heading for his team’s first point of 2014.
The Formula Renault 3.5 Series drivers with links to F1 led the way during the collective tests at Spa-Francorchamps. Championship leader and Red Bull Junior Team driver, Carlos Sainz (DAMS) set the fastest lap of the day in 1:59.139, ahead of Sauber F1 Team reserve driver Sergey Sirotkin (Fortec Motorsports).
